Dr Jennifer Cookman

University of Limerick

Jennifer earned her honours B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry from UCD before continuing as a PhD Student in the Centre for BioNano Interactions (CBNI) in UCD, under the supervision of Prof. Kenneth Dawson. Her work focused on the synthesis of non-spherical gold nanoparticles and studying their shape specific characteristics via TEM tomography. She further studied gold and other nanoparticle materials in biological composites via sample preparation techniques which included negative staining and Cryo-TEM for radiation sensitive materials.
