Dr. Louise Price
Dr Louise Price gained her BSc (hons) in Chemistry at the University of Liverpool. Her final year project was on ab initio calculations of nitric acid hydrates. She completed her PhD under the supervision of Professor Ivan Parkin at UCL Chemistry, on Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition of Tin Sulfide Films on Glass. After a two year spell in general administration in UCL’s Chemistry Department, she started on the CPOSS project with Professor Sally Price, as the project’s administrator. Through the life of the project, her role has developed into a more technical role, carrying out the day today calculations and testing new advances in the techniques.
She has worked with industrial partners GSK and Eli Lilly, using Crystal Structure Prediction to rationalize the observed crystallization behaviour of a range of pharmaceutically relevant molecules.
She has one daughter, Charlotte, who is home educated, and they have many hobbies together, including bell-ringing, craft, nature, cooking and rugby (although only Charlotte plays).
