University of Bristol welcomes Professor Bai Chunli, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, for a tour of Chemistry
19th July 2019
President Bai Chunli and delegates from the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited us on Tuesday 16th July as part of a wider UK tour, to discuss bilateral collaboration between the CAS and the University of Bristol.
After a roundtable discussion in Royal Fort House, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, the delegation was shown around Chemistry by Dr Simon Hall - including a visit to the MagnaPharm Lab.
Professor Bai’s academic credentials in nanoscience and nanotechnology are unquestionably world leading. Highlights include developing China’s first atomic force microscopy and its first tunnelling microscope, achieving a global impact by being able to measure at low temperature in an ultra-high vacuum.
According to our International Office: "President Bai was pleased with the visit and signalled his intention to further collaborate with the University of Bristol".
